Providing Hope through Education

We've done some things this year- a walk-a-thon for the March of Dimes and one for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. What's next? Take a look:

Currently in the planning stages is a school supply drive for the City Mission in Cleveland, OH. The City Mission provides services for the homeless including services for children affected by poverty. Check out their website : The City Mission

The parents of these children have so much to worry about. They have more basic needs to meet that often don't leave them with many, if any, resources to get the supplies their children need for school. Let's help provide some hope to these kids that there are better things to come and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in the future.

Want to get involved? Buy some supplies (backpacks, pencils, notebooks, markers, etc.). Office supply stores often have supply lists handy for local schools. Use these to get ideas of what a child might need. Send me an email or post a comment if you are in the area and would like to participate. I can provide contact info at the Mission for drop off. If you aren't near Cleveland, don't let that stop you! Contact a local shelter near you and help give a kid a chance.

And don't keep it to yourself...recruit loved ones to the trenches. Challenge them, and yourself, to do something this month, no matter how small, for someone else who needs it and help make the world a better place. Thanks for all your efforts!
